Nippon Daisy (Nipponanthemum nipponicum)

Commonly named Montauk Daisy. Formerly classified as Leucanthemum nipponicum and Chrysanthemum nipponicum.

Nipponanthemum nipponicum is October blooming with a spray of 3-4 inch white daisy blooms.

This is a woody shrub growing to a height of about 3'. Nippon Daisy is easily pruned to any size or shape you wish. As a perfect illustration of how accepting these plants are of being pruned, we recently discovered that they are used in growing Bonsai. Prefers full sun but is tolerant of a good deal of shade, Nippon Daisy is drought tolerant and rarely wilts even in the hottest and dryest conditions. A good watering will bring it back to its proper beauty if it does get too dry.

We propagate several hundred of these every year and you may have seen them in some of the garden centers we supply.

Considered one of the most beautiful perennials in the garden we will have 1 and 2 gallon plants for 2023. Prices will be $12.00 and $18.00.
